Long Live the LP (no, not the Liberal Party, you fool), VINYL!!
September 27, 2006
Conrado de Quiros, much acclaimed columnist of the Philippine Daily Inquirer gives us a refreshing view of the black gold that is vinyl. After you get past the initial scare that the enlightening article may send prices for used and new vinyl through the roof, one is happy to read that Conrado the columnist, freedom fighter and defender of the weak and those who are otherwise without representation is in the fight for good vinyl as well. It is good to know that there is a healthy vinyl supply in Manila. We are seeing a phenomenal growth of the hobby, thanks to the Internet and many yuppies who are investing in good sound reproduction systems that include turntables. It is only hoped, though, that those seeking the best of music not forget that there is nothing like a true live recording. Please send us an email if you are looking for records or some free advise. The Tuesday Club, a 17-year old club of LP enthusiasts and audiophiles has this blogger as a member, and the club is always more than glad to spread the analogue gospel to anyone who wants to listen (no pun intended).
